This article is a must-read! It brilliantly breaks down the political attack on DEI, exposes the power of buzzwords in shaping public perception, and makes a compelling case for empathy and inclusion. A sharp, insightful, and thought-provoking piece that challenges us to take action. Highly recommend! #StandForDEI

Another fantastic article! You guys hit the nail on the head with regard to equating DEI with woke. I’m so furious over what’s been happening the past few days, I almost cannot breath! The illegality tied to some of Trump’s Executive Orders has me floored that he hasn’t been held accountable. Then again, we are truly experiencing a complete takeover of every branch of government.

Thanks, Missy. Good perspective, tough times. They're definitely flooding the zone. Maintaining that good perspective will help get us through. Hanging on to our values, like empathy, in our own lives - it's one of the keys.

It feels like they took our buzz words — so many were crafted so poorly (like the ‘weird’ thing) and they spun it around on us and it worked. The timeline we are living in is unbelievably and I don’t understand why elected dems aren’t being as loud as we are. !!!

Great analysis of trump and trumpism and how it uses buzz words to gain popularity amongst the maga crowd invoking hatred and fear

Thanks, Margaret. The GOP has echo chambers, whereas the Dems really don't. Echo chambers facilitate strategies like using short buzz words to emotionalize an audience with narrow world views, or low information voters, or the like. It's a difficult landscape and we felt it doesn't get enough attention, so we focused on it here. :)

They lie, and cheat — and steal our buzz terms and we let them.

I found out during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2021 that I am Autistic. In the winter of 2024 I went back to college and early on I found I am also ADHD. I am so thankful you addressed the anti-DEIA bend of the right wing. This was the article I needed just when I am going through a related event. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Excellent read!

Hate them, I do. But I also admire their ability to message in a way that inspires and invigorates their cult. That they’re a Nazi cult is extremely unfortunate but our side can learn a thing or two from them about messaging and creating a brand. And given the dire nature of the situation at hand, we’re going to need every arrow in our quiver to beat back these fascist lunatics.

Yes! Excellent point. They have the ability to message like we do not. However, they also have control over most social media and a lot of media and ours failed us. We’ve got a lot of coordination and organization to do for the 2026 midterms. We have to take back the house !
