Their greed is really astonishing, and also very disheartening. I often think of that line from the movie Chinatown: How much better can you eat?
Note: I have two kids who are both on the autism spectrum. One of them is intellectually disabled and non-verbal. The other is incredibly bright and verbal. Neither one of them is an asshole. I think EM's problems are much more related to his narcissism than his autism.
If he's bought into any economic theory at all, it's got to be that trickle-down idea - which enables him to believe "greed is good" because it will eventually benefit all the wee peasants. IF he thinks about it at all - which I doubt! If pressed, I bet that's the reason he'd cite.
But there's also that whole "everyone else is lazy and deserves to be poor" - like the prosperity gospel without the Christian angle.
It’s also quite telling how much was handed to him while he attempts to call others lazy— and we know to whom he’s referring when he says lazy. It’s really just a racist dog whistle.
We know he has to keep his businesses here in America for his better business.
I am pleased to see your reference to the not referenced enough Dark Triad where you describe, accurately, how some of the super-wealthy have these traits. I've been writing about it, mostly in regards to Trump, since 2017. The most recent piece I wrote using the Dark Triad to illustrate psychopatholgy was "Trump's soulless cruelty is the point and, appallingly, many Americans get off on it" here: https://www.halbrown.org/2024/12/trumps-soulless-cruelty-it-point-and.html
This was absolutely fabulous & very much needed. I will definitely repost it. - YpsiGal

Musk’s NPD is absolutely the issue with regard to cruelty.
Why does he feel that people need less for him to have more? It’s such an evil and narcissistic (!) way to think.

Or - TL/DR: he's a real prick.
Without hesitation the “TL/DR” :))!

So very intuitive. Great perspectives. Thank you!
Thank YOU!
